School Has Begun

Well it's the first day of school again, can you believe it, I can't. The kids were all a little annoyed about mom taking their picture, yet again. Boy this will be great fun when they are parents.

Amee is 17 and a Senior at SRHS, Bryan is 14 and a Freshmen at SRHS, and David is 10 and in the 5th grade at Santa Rosa Accelerated Charter School. Amee caught me coming down the hall with the camera as she was getting ready in the bathroom, she grumbled. I told her to be nice or I will take her picture on the first of college, too. Bryan asked me if I got at 5:30am just to take their pictures, I just giggled and smiled "Of course". David just gave me an "If looks could kill" look. He didn't have to get up until 6:30am. I was looking forward to this year. Only two schools to deal with, but only one child to drop off. Amee and Bryan ride together, but have a church class at 6:00am. Amee gets out of school at lunch and cannot bring Bryan home, so he will ride the city bus, of course I will pick him up, occasionally.

Another Day at the Beach, Hmmmmmm

David keeping a eye on his little cousin Simon. David just loves his little cousins.

Amee trying to take a bad picture, yeah right babe.

Bryan didn't think he'd be cold, good thing mom came prepared.

Amee and her cousin Mason, getting water and sea weed for a couple of hermet crabs that Mason is going to try to take home to Utah.

David and his cousin Becca. It's funny how the kids always dig a big hole when we go to the beach. This one filled up with water when the tide came in, the kids loved it.

Our lodging while visiting Santa Cruz

This is the outside view of our two-room suite. There is a whole story behind why we ended up with a suite. We booked a family cabin online, but they turned out to be 2x4 structures wrapped with tarps. It is of course, very windy on the coast of northern California, this was not going to work. By staying in the lodge we got to use the hot tub "awesome". We spent two nights here.

The lodge had these really cool outside fireplaces, so we were still able to make S'mores.

Amee and Bryan playing bunny. You do this by stuffing as many marshmallows as possible in your mouth. After the inserting of each marshmallow you have to say "Bunny". Very funny.

David doesn't like marshmallows so he stuffed chocolate into his mouth. Definitely mama's boy

She's a bed hog.........poor David. We took the cushions off the chair and love seat to make a bed for Bryan on the floor.

A Day at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk

Amee, Bryan and David on the biggest roller coaster on the boardwalk.
Check out their hair................

Well, they look like they're having fun.

You know, it's not often Roger will pose for a picture.

The kids screaming on the Cyclone.

Silly Boys..........

Bryan and David thought it would be fun to ride on a kiddie ride, the Starfish.

Lunch on the Beach

Bryan finally having a break to text friends at home.

David working off his corndog and chasing birds.

Roger just had to have a "Deep Fried Twinkie".

Roger and Amee with the beach in the back ground, waiting for the Chinese Acrobats to start performing.

Roger and I on the beach with the Giant Dipper behind us.

Amee, Bryan and David at the Pigeon Point Lighthouse,

between Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz.

A very windy Pigeon Point Lighthouse, on the way home.

Roger's New Projects

Maybe we should trying gardening.

Look at the size of this tomato plant. It's huge...

Roger says he is enjoying the building of the new retaining wall.

Not bad.....huh?

We will be adding stairs, where it looks like the dirt is spilling out of the wall. When there are three cars in the driveway, it's hard to get to the door.
